Oopsie! So, here we are again. Another year gone, some achievements to be so freaking grateful for and some disastrous failures. I use the word “disastrous” cause it’s truly that.
Early last year, I made a plate of banana oat pancakes and sold the story of how I was about to embark on a journey of wellbeing. Few days in, I strayed off the path and got lost in a world of quick-fix meals, sweets and takeouts. Think the candy house from Hansel and Gretel. I allowed food apps to brainwash me into believing I was better off ordering pizza then cooking a meal mid week ’cause I deserve “no cooking” days. It was a disaster.
During this time P continuously reminded me about how we should having home cooked meals for two obvious reasons- health and finances, however, I always had an excuse to dish out, from “I’m too tired” to “I don’t want to wash dishes” but honestly, these weren’t the reasons.
Over time I figured that I was running out of meal ideas and that I didn’t enjoy the “healthy” food I was cooking. I simply can’t be that person who “eats to fuel”, I need food taste (and look) good. Suffering at every bite of oats chapati…
Instead I’m now choosing to nourish my body with nutritious meals that taste yummy and also, don’t weigh me down (literally speaking). I haven’t figured it all out yet, but you’re welcome to tag along so we can figure things out together.
Who’s with me?
